(This is a comment I left to Amazon.com customer service feedback)
I was under the impression that I would "instantly" get 50 dollars off the items in my cart upon the approval of the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card. After completing the process and getting approved I received no email confirmation or the 50 dollars off my cart. Then after spending an hour of what's left of my off day searching forums and talking to customer service for both Amazon.com and Chase Bank as to why this happened, I was told that the approval for the card was really them accepting my application. (Not to mention, Chase weren't able to find my application at all)
Both Amazon and Chase told me that I would have to wait 2 weeks for the results of my application. So let me get this straight; I have to wait 2 weeks for approval, then 5 to 6 business days for shipping? How is that instant? I don't want to wait almost a month for something I purchased. And 2 to 3 weeks for approval is not instant. The customer service lady was very kind and apologetic, but it was not her fault. And I can't get back the time I wasted from filling my cart all the way up until writing this comment that I'm sure no one will read or care about.
Please in the future remove the word instant or anything that will lead people to believe that something will happen that won't. While searching forums on Google, I found many people that fell for this ad for a rewards card and still checked out at full price. I was very tempted to contact my attorney out of pure frustration for false advertisement, but I won't. -But that won't stop someone more petty than I am from doing so... If someone read this and cared, thanks for letting me vent. ^__O
(I know there are going to be some people that say "You're stupid and should read the fine print" or "It's only 50 dollars"... But it's the principle... You can't mislead people no matter how insignificant because there may be consequences. If you don't care about consequences, go ahead and do whatever you want.)
